i always look forward to going upstate for gigs. the drive is beautiful (ALWAYS take the taconic, people) and the destination is almost certainly gorgeous as well. such was the case for ali and ryan’s celebration in north creek, ny. such a quaint little train town. thank you for letting me be a part of it, guys!!

one word: intimate.
i loved this wedding.
i spent my first day with matty and kaoru at city hall with family followed by a very cozy reception at rucola in brooklyn the next day. i love shooting at city hall because there are so many characters and everyone there is connected by one beautiful thing: someone is getting married!!
enjoy and share!
the sweet couple.
a lovely bouquet.
we got some prep shots in, after all!
perfect spot for an epic portrait 🙂
time for the portrait shoot!
kaoru and matty are so in love. their sweetness made it easy to capture moments like this.
it was so cold! standing in the sun was the only way to stay moderately warm.
and now for the beautiful reception the next day. rucola and their staff did a fantastic job accommodating kaoru and matty.
kaoru and matty’s friends did an awesome job setting up the venue.
the flowers and arrangements at this wedding were beautiful.
loved the light in this space.
sasha making sure everything is perfect.
yummy sweet japanese candy.
suit pants crisis averted!
“romeo and juliet”
very photogenic venue.
stealing the show.
grandpa and granddaughter.
green tea ceremony to seal the deal.
a final toast to newlyweds!
thanks for an amazing weekend, kaoru and matty! congratulations.

had a great day with carla and sean a couple weeks ago. their meatpacking district wedding starting with preparation in the gansevoort hotel, then portraits on the high line and ended with a beautiful reception at the spice market. i’d never been to the spice market before, but they did a fantastic job and the food was pretty amazing.
enjoy and share!

the beauty of doing a portrait shoot in public is that you have to get over being watched very quickly.
